This is the Treatment Skills part of the Medicines and Treatments Collection. It equips you with the knowledge and skills to confidently support people living with diabetes throughout their treatment journey. You’ll develop competencies in areas such as shared decision-making and explore non-pharmacological approaches to diabetes management, including the role of nutrition and physical activity. - Recognise the role of diet and exercise as a treatment for diabetes
- Understand the importance of informed choice and shared decision making
- Monitor and maintain cardiovascular and renal health
- Understand the psychological impact of treatments and taking medication for people living with diabetes
- Tell your patients how to monitor and manage their diabetes and medication during periods of concurrent illness
